Stormin the Castle FAQ’s
Here are our most Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) for those who have not visited Stormin the Castle before or maybe this will be your very first Bike Rally either way we are sure you have a lot of questions This section is a quick guide to Stormin’ The Castle.
Questions include general enquiries, buying tickets and attending the event.

• Where is Stormin’ to be held?
The site is at Witton Castle Country Park, which is near Bishop Auckland, Co Durham Dl14 0DE.

• What is the cut off date for pre book tickets?
The 10th of August for postal orders and the 25th of August online or by phone.
• What happens if I don’t have a pre booked ticket?
Ticket numbers are restricted. If there are any left after the cut off date, they will be available on the gate for £40 – BUT ONLY TO THOSE ARRIVING ON BIKES OR TRIKES!
• What happens if all ‘on the gate’ tickets are sold?
Sorry, but you won’t be able to get in to the rally. In previous years tickets have sold out and the gate has closed. Pre booking is strongly advised.
• Can I arrive as a pedestrian?
Yes, but only if you have a pre-booked ticket.
• Could I park nearby then walk to the site?
NO! We advise you to buy a car permit or get dropped off at the site. Any cars parked near to the site, which are causing an obstruction, are liable to be towed away by the police. Witton Castle may tow or clamp any cars, which are parked on their land without authorisation.
• Can I be dropped off by a friend/ taxi?
Yes the drop off point will be indicated to you when you arrive on site.
• Can I buy a car permit through the PO Box?
No. Numbers are strictly limited and selling them through the credit card line enables us to keep a close check on numbers sold.
• Can I buy a car-parking permit on the gate?
No.Parking permits are pre book only and will not be available after the cut off date.
• Does the car permit include camping and admission to the rally?
No. Prebook tickets are needed by ALL occupants of the car.
• What happens if I break my wristband?
Come to the cabin at the main gate & bring your wristband with you.
• Can I bring my dog?
N0! Animals are not allowed on site.
• What time does the event open. Can I come and camp on Thursday?
NO.The main gate opens at 10.00am on Friday the 31st August 20112. No camping will be available on the rally site before that time. The main show-field opens at 12:00 noon
• Can I come to the rally just for the Saturday and pay less?
This is a weekend event and there are no day tickets.
• Can I bring a gazebo?
Yes, as long as it doesn’t obstruct firebreaks and access roads. Communal gazebos are becoming more popular and reduce the amount of camping space for individual tents. We reserve the right to clear space if necessary.
• Can I bring my own beer?
We would prefer you to support the bars on site. Your ticket fee just about covers the cost of running the event. We rely on bar profits to raise the donation to MAG.
No slabs of alcohol are to be brought in by car. WE WILL STOP IT BEING CARRIED ON TO THE SITE.
DO NOT bring glass on site-the field is used by livestock at various times of the year.
• Can I bring a caravan with my car?
If you bring a caravan you must book it in with Witton Castle, ring 01388 488230. They will charge you a fee for this, which will be in addition to your rally ticket. There will be no reduction on the price of your rally ticket.
• Do I have to pre book to enter the bike show?
No, just arrive at the show area on the day.
• How will I manage if I am disabled?
Disabled car parking is free, but must be pre-booked through PO Box 293, Durham, DH1 4XS, by the cut off date (the 10th August). Please include a sae. A blue badge belonging to one of the occupants must be displayed on the car. All car passengers MUST have a pre booked ticket. Camping is allowed next to vehicles in the disabled camping area. • Can I buy any Stormin’ products after the event?
Products will only be on sale during the event.
